SEO Search Volume

Which Keywords Should You Go After? Which Keywords Make the Most Sense to Target?

What Is Search Volume?

Search volume is the average monthly searchs for a specific keyword

The search volume of a keyword assesses potential search engine traffic and allows you to determine whether or not it is safe and worth it to focus on that term.

If there is a high search volume for your focus keyword, that tells you it is something that is searched for by a lot of people. It also tells you that the competition for it is probably very high, making it more difficult to rank in the top search results.

If the search volume is low, then there may be little interest in that term. Focusing on a low search volume keyword can be a misuse of SEO efforts as it won’t bring in much potential traffic.

Many believe there’s a correlation between search volume and search difficulty, which isn’t the case. You can find high volume keywords that are easy to rank with SEO tools like Ahrefs.
